I have used the prepaid phone services for five years. I have used TracPhone services. The plus side of these services is that it they are cheap and no contracts are required. I find the sound quality and reception
good. I live in a rural area and I am pleased with the coverage it provided. I
am able to access the websites and purchase minutes easily. The internet works with Straight Talk very well. I purchased my own phone to bring to the service.
The negative side of the phone
service is that the customer service is very difficult to work with, if something goes wrong. My phone would not add
the minutes I purchased. I called their customer service number, and it was an
ordeal. I had to talk to numerous agents.
The noise in the background was awful. I could hear all the other
operators talking to other customers. I did finally get the problem resolved
that time. Another time, I was trying to keep my phone number and port it to
another phone. I followed their directions. It did not work. The TracFone
porting froze my phone up.. I tried multiple times to get the issue resolved. I
would get the response that it would take more time. I never was able to port
my number. I lost my phone number to
another person and had to get another phone number. This was very inconvenient. The internet with TracPhone was not very usable. Also they do not allow connecting other devices to their internet. If you need to have this for your freelancer work, this could be significant enough to not go with this type of service. So do your homework and see if this money saver works for you or not.
